As a visual learner, I especially like the use of infographics, tables, and checklists throughout. The author also uses examples from their personal works to demonstrate key concepts. The guide is sectioned in order of research experience, from novice to advanced researcher, making it easy to pinpoint knowledge gaps and prioritise these according to your skill level. The section on statistics is extremely well put together, as a student that normally avoids anything remotely maths related, it breaks down complex concepts without all the jargon and defines key terms well. This guide saves you time on personal research, consulting mentors and supervisors. It truly levels the playing field, especially for students that may not have the social capital and or support to partake fully in academia. It is a small price to pay for skills that will serve you a lifetime.

From visa questions to setting cultural expectations and even doctors on social media who document their own experiences, all of which serve as reliable sources of information for anyone struggling to decide where to practice medicine. I would recommend this to any and all IMGs who want to go on their own adventure in medicine!

It's got so much detail, I honestly wish I had this when I was applying for / researching funding because it would have saved me so much time. Very impressed that you have managed to summarise graduate entry for medicine and the funding opportunities for that!

This book does the groundwork for you. Entry requirements, medical training system, lifestyle, salary- the information is organised for ease of browsing. This is a manual for the international medic. I look forward to future editions where the breadth of countries covered will be even more generous.

Her accomplishments have allowed her to produce an ebook that contains considered appraisal and elaboration on her own published papers. The book's detailed sections on statistics, conducting a systematic review, and the publication process provide novice researchers with realistic expectations and a great ground knowledge for getting involved in research. Demystified : scientific writing contains a fountain of knowledge suitable for any medical student at any stage of training. I would highly recommend.

The guide is very easy to follow, without being too simplistic. You have explained the elements of a critical appraisal very well. As someone who is new to research, you have made it a lot less daunting. The examples you used of your own work are extremely helpful, as they put the tips/pointers of the chapter into context. I like the information you included about paraphrasing, because you have described what this actually means, and it will help people write more concisely and clearly. I love the methodology diagram too - it's colourful, bold and it stands out very nicely.

This was an extremely professional read. I was blown away and surprised by how good it was. An amazing job was done balancing precise information and not overloading the reader. I was very confused as to how the medical system in Canada works, especially as there is a lack of accessible information. But you have given me hope and a feasible plan to consider for my future.
