Royal College of Psychiatrists
The Aggrey Burke Fellowship for Black Medical Students - The Aggrey Burke Fellowship is a 2-year programme for Black medical students at UK universities. It offers a range of benefits including a mentor, CPD fund of £1500 to be spent on activities of your choosing related to your career development and / or understanding of psychiatry, and a fully funded place at RCPsych International Congress. Must be enrolled in medical school for the next 2 years (final year students not eligible to apply).
British Pharmacological Society
The Sir Colin Dollery Clinical Pharmacology Training Award is a cost of living bursary of £6,000 for up to 3 3rd or 4th year medical students studying in the UK and internationally. Must be intending to study for an intercalated degree with strong pharmacology or industry components. Research and Taught degrees will be considered. Applicants should apply for free undergraduate membership in advance. The supervisor need not be a BPS member.
FMUSP Winter School
Each year, the University of São Paulo Medical School invites medical students from around the world to learn and network for 2 weeks at Brazil’s best medical and research university. The application period runs through March annually.
The British Society for Haematology
Annual essay prize. Winner will receive a prize of £500 and the runner-up will receive £250. The winning essay will be published in the British Journal of Haematology.
The Student Voice Prize
An annual, international essay competition that raises the profile of rare disease within the medical field. Prizes include publication, speaking engagements, fully funded attendance at scientific conferences and money.
The Biomedical Society
The Biochemical Society offers grants for all career stages supporting research, attendance at scientific conferences, and the sponsorship of events, particularly 6-week summer placements for undergraduate students in biochemistry and related subjects.
Medical / healthcare student essay prize
The winners will receive a prize for an essay on an aspect of chronic pain, of not more than 3000 words. The winning entries are presented at the Pain Relief Foundation.

RCR Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF)
An opportunity to undertake a summer research project in the field of academic clinical oncology. Excellent opportunity for medical students in their early years to bolster their CV while gaining insights into the specialty and clinical research.
Wellcome Trust Biomedical Vacation Scheme
Paid research experience for undergraduates (must NOT be a graduate, intercalating or have had substantial research experience). Pay and duration: Living wage for 6-8 weeks in July. Apply directly through an eligible university on the website.
The British Association of Dermatologists Bursaries, Fellowships & Awards
Medical students: essay prize (Deadline: 10 Jan annually), intercalated degree & elective grants. Doctors: outstanding contributions, travel grants, fellowships and bursaries for research projects.

Julia Anderson Training Programme
Open to all early career professionals (e.g., undergraduate and postgraduate students) who have not completed an internship/training programme before. Training posts are advertised twice a year. 10,000 Black Interns
Internships across a range of sectors, including Health Data Research and Healthcare Management (for medics), specifically aimed at candidates who are Black, studying at/or recently graduated from a UK university OR aged 18+ who have completed their A-levels and who are on a gap year with the intention of undertaking higher education.
Cambridge MedTech Foundation Innovation Programme
4-month programme providing an introduction to medical device development and interdisciplinary teamwork including approaches to clinical problems, concept generation, business model development, and pitching. Register your interest for Autumn 2023.
Imperial Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme
Undergraduate research experience in any field with a supervisor of your choice. You must directly contact a supervisor from Imperial. Open to undergraduate students within and outside of Imperial. There is no general deadline for applications.
YPHSIG Essay Competition
Essay prize on topics within child and adolescent health. Winner will receive £100 prize money, certificate awarded at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Annual Conference and their essay published on the YPHSIG website.
Pathological Society Essay Prize
If you have an interest in Pathology as a specialty, sign up for undergraduate membership for the society and submit an essay to their annual essay competition.
SFO Prizes
Student and Foundation Doctors in Otolaryngology Essay prize: Only clinical medical students are eligible to enter (last 3 years of medical school). Ideal for those with an interest in ENT. Deadline: 11 Dec 2022

BSDS Essay Prize
Twice a year the BSDS sets and essay title on a topic related to dermatological surgery and offers a prize for the winning essays. The prize for the winning essay will be £300. Deadline: 31 Jan 2023
BOA Essay Prize
Medical students from the UK and Ireland are invited to submit an essay (1,000 words) answering a question related to Trauma & Orthopaedics (good for students with an interest in T&O). Prizes include a certificate, prize money and a fully funded place at the annual BOA Congress.
NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme
Mentoring, networking and bespoke training to develop innovative ideas, products and businesses to benefit NHS patients. The curriculum covers all aspects of start-ups such as funding and corporate governance.

Quizlet
If you can't be bothered to make your own flashcards, Quizlet has thousands of user-made flashcards, practice tests and games. Good for active recall.
Life in the Fast Lane
A collection of clinical cases in emergency medicine and critical care. Great for learning radiology such as reading ECGs, chest X-rays and ultrasounds.
